New student enrollment

2019 - 2020 School Year

Enrollment is done by appointment to minimize your wait time. Appointments for enrollment can be made starting August 12 or after: please email [email protected] or call Ms. Chris Genung at 619-286-7700 x2212.

Students currently enrolled in 8th grade in feeder middle schools Lewis and Pershing do not need to enroll, they will automatically transfer to PHHS.

New student enrollment is for:

  • families residing within the Patrick Henry boundaries, or
  • families who have applied through the district Choice or VEEP programs and who are on the list provided by the district to PHHS. For students in the VEEP and Choice programs, families will be called from the district-provided list and enrolled for 2019-20. For important information on the Choice program on the district's Enrollment Options department website, click here.

School Finder is available to help you determine whether you live within the Patrick Henry boundaries, and if not, then it will identify your neighborhood school.
For enrollment please bring:

  • Proof of residency (utility bill, mortgage statement, or rental agreement)
  • Immunization records
  • Copy of IEP, if applicable

About parent involvement

parentInvolvementWe welcome families and guardians to join us in preparing today's students to take charge of America's future. We recognize that raising children is a team effort, and that students benefit from an educational team involving our schools, our community and you.

Research shows that the more parents get involved in their child's education, the higher level of success that student can achieve. Parent engagement is potent as rocket fuel, and with it, there's no telling how high your child can soar.

What's the best way to get involved? Talk to your child's teacher and school office to see what you can do. In addition, the district's Parent Outreach and Engagement Department offers dozens of free programs and extensive resources -- in multiple languages -- on the most effective ways to help your child academically.

Our schools welcome you to pitch in, often with seemingly small tasks that can have far-reaching results. You can join our school foundation, band boosters, athletic boosters, ELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee), the School Site Council. You can chaperone field trips, help out during our Grad Night, help out in classrooms and for special events like Teacher/Staff appreciation.

You can make an impact by joining any one of the district's many advisory committees and councils, and help shape policy on everything from legislation to athletics.

Our district is committed to involving student families and the community. We've made it official policy, Parent Communications and Involvement Standards, to establish effective partnerships at every level in the educational process -- from our classrooms, to company boardrooms, to family living rooms
